Our terms of purchase

When you order from us, you buy under our terms & conditions, and by placing an order it is deemed that you have read and accepted these.


We accept the following methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Paypal and Apple Pay. All prices are in pounds sterling.

Postage costs

We charge postage at cost; this is calculated in the shopping cart by the combined shipping weight of your books.

Acknowledgement of order

All orders receive an onscreen confirmation and, as soon as your order has gone through, you should get an order confirmation email from contact@scarletimprint.com – please check your junk email folder and spam filter if it doesn’t arrive. You will also receive a shipping confirmation once your order has been sent (within two working days).

Digital edition license

All physical books purchased directly from our website, whether hardback or paperback, will be accompanied by the digital edition (if available for the title). This will follow your order in a separate email and will be sent in 48 hours or less. Our digital editions are DRM-free (free of Digital Rights Management), but are subject to the terms of this license. You own the file, and you can use it on any of your devices in perpetuity. You are prohibited from uploading Scarlet Imprint digital editions to any website or file-sharing network, or in any other way making them available for distribution, sharing, copying, downloading, or reselling.

Speed of despatch

We aim to despatch books within 2 working days of receipt of the order.


Orders are sent via the Royal Mail first class in the UK, and International Standard Delivery (previously known as Airmail) overseas. These are untracked services. We also offer tracked and signed for options to the UK, Europe and Worldwide:

  • Royal Mail Signed For First Class for proof of delivery, and aims to deliver the parcel on the next working day.

  • International Tracked and Signed is a combination service offering full end-to-end tracking, and a signature on delivery. This service is not available to some destinations, in which case we will despatch books via International Tracked or International Signed: please see the Royal Mail Tracked and Signature services coverage for more information.

As a guide, delivery to Europe takes approximately 3–5 working days, delivery to the States and Worldwide 5–7 working days. Delivery times are, however, subject to customs clearance, local services etc., which may affect estimated delivery.

If you order a fine edition, for added security we request that you select the tracked/signed for option at the checkout. Most courier and signature on delivery services do not deliver to P.O. box addresses, so we kindly request that you give us a home or work address when ordering.

Delivery to some countries has presented us with persistent problems, even when using tracked and signed for services. As a result we can only send books to Brazil and Mexico at the risk of the recipient. It is our policy to replace books that are lost in the post. If you do not receive your delivery in the expected timeframe, please let us know.

An item is not considered officially ‘lost’ by Royal Mail until 20 days (UK) and 30 days (Europe, Worldwide) after shipping. After this time we will send a replacement.

We will not be responsible for any orders which are not delivered due to incorrect or incomplete information being supplied by you. Please ensure that you enter full and accurate details of the delivery address, and the postal code, of the recipient. Please double-check the address carefully when placing your order and on the order notification; if you notice an error after placing an order, email us as soon as possible with the correct details. In the event that a package is returned to us, you will be responsible for the return shipping cost as well as the redelivery cost.


If the book that you have purchased has physical faults, either in its manufacture or from damage in the shipping process, please email us to request a replacement. In the case that replacement is not possible we will refund you. If your order has been supplied incorrectly, email us and we will make good any shortage or non-delivery. We cannot consider copies returned for other reasons.
