Sweet sixteen

Today, on our sixteenth anniversary, we extend our heartfelt thanks to you, and the writers, artists and readers who have joined us in the magical adventure which began on 07/07/07. At this mid point in the year we would like to share news of works in preparation for late Summer and beyond.

Our next publication will be Balthazar Blacke’s Divine Gypsy Mother, a reimagining of the 19th century fortune-telling system popularly known as gypsy cards, with original artwork by Alexander Daniloff. These enchanting cards and book provide a highly practical and nuanced method for divination. We are on schedule to open the pre-order at the end of July.

This will be followed by a work on the esoteric tarot, which emerged out of a dialogue between Peter Mark Adams and Christophe Poncet. In this conversation, two of the leading researchers into the hidden legacy of the tarot discuss the wider significance of their findings for our understanding of both the social and cultural significance of the tarot, and its central role as an integral and vibrant part of today's esoteric traditions. Two Esoteric Tarots will introduce Christophe Poncet’s work to our readership in advance of the first volume of his Tarot of Marsilio, which is destined to become a cornerstone work on the most popular and perhaps least understood deck, the tarot de Marseille. Meticulously researched and lavishly illustrated, the first book will appear this year, with the following volumes slated for 2024 and 2025 respectively. 

We are delighted that Mark Nemglan has joined our authors, with his groundbreaking Avalon Working, due to be published late this year. Equal parts grimoire and devotional, gazeteer and visionary journey, Avalon Working passionately argues for Glastonbury as a centre of emergence and initiation, a latter-day Eleusis or Samothrace. Through essay and ritual, the work invites readers to actively participate in the Holy Island’s unfolding destiny; in partnership with its spirits and powers, to co-create its mythopoeia and, in doing so, forge a new Avalonian covenant.

And a new work from the poet Paul Holman is also slated for publication later this year: Sussex Coils and Loops documents a series of ritual actions performed at sites associated with serpent and dragon legends in Sussex from the winter solstice of 2017 until the summer solstice of 2022.

Looking further ahead, Lucifer: Praxis is also breaking into the light, now north of 90,000 words and entering the finishing sequence. And Gordon White is writing the third book in his ‘dot trilogy,’ to follow his paradigm shifting Star.Ships and Ani.Mystic.

Finally, an update on the fine binding of Frater Acher’s Holy Daimon, which is well underway and should ship in early August.
