Occulture Berlin 2025
We return to Berlin in October for the Occulture Conference, the leading gathering of practitioners and scholars in the field of esotericism in Europe. A wonderful opportunity to participate in a unique event, with a great line-up of speakers, workshops, performances, ritual, art and diviners.
Peter will present a lecture that expands upon his work with the fallen angels of the Enochic tradition, and Alkistis will give a workshop on her practice, focussing on the imaginary in movement.
Fallen Albion
The foundational myth of magic and witchcraft is that of the fallen angels, primarily transmitted to us in the account of Genesis and the Book of Watchers. How can we encounter, understand and work with these maligned forces which have inhabited our world and captured our imagination since before the flood? By understanding the Enochian tradition the fault lines between monotheism and the world of ancient magic are laid bare, and the concealed world of angels, epiphanies and omens becomes an open book once more. Drawing on personal encounters in the sublime landscape and beneath the ever watchful stars, an account of modern practice is given and a glimpse of a specifically English Enochian tradition. I describe this world as Fallen Albion, as the esoteric project to make these isles the seat of prophecy reveals that the throne of vision rests upon the dwelling places of the mighty dead.
Sensations of the imaginary
Butô is a dance oriented towards the unknown; when the dance begins at the point of crisis – what appears as an impasse, a void or rupture opening before us – becomes the ground upon which we dance. Here begins an unfolding and a transformation of consciousness in movement. At the core of butô’s philosophy of transformation are images and techniques of the imaginary. Cultivating and experimenting with these techniques is the work of a lifetime; in this workshop we will explore some of these methods of ‘dancing through phantasmata.’
The conference takes place from the 23rd to the 26th of October. For full details and to purchase a ticket please visit the event website.
